7:45 a.m., Oct. 1, 2024

Crews will be onsite today to backfill and complete road work on Beard Creek Trail.

The road will remain closed until repair work is complete.

6:45 p.m., Sept. 30, 2024

Repairs are complete and water service has been restored to all affected properties and fire hydrants.

Beard Creek Trail will remain closed overnight. Road work will be completed tomorrow, Oct. 1, 2024.

When water service is restored, properties may temporarily experience low water pressure until water lines refill. A temporary outage normally entraps some air in the water distribution system, which can cause water to have a cloudy appearance. It also stirs up sediment in water mains that may briefly cause discolored water. The water is safe to drink.

To clear your pipes of entrapped air and discoloration, run cold water faucets that do not have a screen, such as those in tubs or an outside spigot. Flush your lines until the water runs clear.

At 12:00 p.m., Eagle River Water & Sanitation District was notified of a water main leak on Beard Creek Trail in the Cordillera Valley Club.

Crews responded and were able to isolate the leak and all affected properties will have water service through the weekend.

Due to the leak, there will be an emergency water service outage on Sept. 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for affected properties and a temporary road closure while the repair is being completed.

(Refer to map image for red outline of affected properties and the green circled area where the road closure will occur).

Affected residents will be notified directly.

Residents on the southwest side of the road closure will be directed to enter and exit the area using the west gate.

Residents on the northeast side of the closure will be directed to enter and exit using the east gate. There will be no through traffic while repair work is being done.

To prepare for the outage, affected residents may want to fill containers, buckets, and jugs so that they have water throughout the evening during the outage. Water from a bucket or jug can be used for hand washing, toilet flushing or for drinking or cooking needs. To flush a toilet during a water outage, pour a bucket of water into the toilet bowl all at once (learn how to flush your toilet during a water outage with this short video) or fill the tank for regular flushing.
