Next phase of wastewater treatment improvements begins in May
Starting Jun. 5, the front entrance and public parking area at Eagle River Water & Sanitation District’s administrative office in Vail (846 Forest Road) will be closed to complete structural concrete repairs. The closure will likely remain in place until Jun.20.
Public parking will be available at the back of the building and visitors should follow the signs to the alternate entrance and parking on the west side of the building. Signage and barricades will be in place throughout construction.
ERWSD’s Vail office is located directly above their Vail Wastewater Treatment Facility. All water used indoors in Vail east of this facility travels through sewer mains for treatment at this location where it is cleaned before it is released into Gore Creek.
ERWSD and its contractors will perform structural enhancements and repairs as part of the Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant Master Plan Improvements Project, a $9 million project to upgrade aging infrastructure to continue meeting mandated effluent regulations and optimize wastewater processes.
The overall project is scheduled to be complete in spring of 2024 and is funded by customer wastewater rates and property assessments. The work will be performed by PCL Construction.
