Please join the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District board of directors and staff for a reception and tour of the Avon Wastewater Treatment Facility Nutrient Upgrades project from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on July 24.
This $57 million capital project upgraded the wastewater treatment process to meet more stringent effluent nutrient regulations. It was completed in fall 2023 and continues to improve water quality in the Eagle River every day.
The extensive 3½-year project:
- Installed new treatment processes to meet Colorado’s water quality Regulation 85 (which limits the discharge of nitrogen and phosphorous from wastewater treatment facilities into waterways).
- Rehabilitated aging wastewater infrastructure.
- Improved overall site functionality and aesthetics.
Please register if you will attend using this online registration form link.
Welcome, acknowledgements and remarks, and breakfast burritos will begin at 10 a.m. with facility tours to follow every 20 minutes.
This event will be mostly outdoors with some uneven ground and will tour the inside of a working wastewater treatment facility. Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe, flat-heeled shoes.
Come see your publicly owned wastewater treatment facility and meet the board members and staff responsible for ensuring clean, quality water in the Eagle River.
The Avon wastewater treatment facility is located at the end of Millies Lane in Avon – east of LiftView Condominiums and south of Nottingham Lake. Parking is available onsite; please walk or bike if possible.
