Elections

As a Colorado special district, the Board of Directors of the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (ERWSD) are elected officials. The seven-person Board is comprised of one eligible elector from each of the ERWSD Director Districts. Directors serve at-large, meaning they represent the entire District.

Colorado regular special district elections are now held biennially in odd-numbered years. The next regular election will be held on May 6, 2025.

Currently, four Directors are serving a three-year term through May 2025 and three Directors are serving a four-year term through May 2027. Beginning in 2025, all Director terms will be for four years. Directors may run for no more than two consecutive four-year terms.

Elections are open to eligible electors of the ERWSD Director Districts. An eligible elector is a person registered to vote in Colorado and either:

  1. A resident of the District, or
  2. An owner, or a spouse of an owner, of real or personal property within the District
