District crews were able to expose the water main and service line to repair the leak. The leak was isolated due to its location along the service line which allowed for all but one residence to resume full water service. The remaining residence will be without water while crews repair the leak along the service line. The residence has been notified.
Once the repair is complete, crews will reopen valves on the water main to restore water service. Properties may temporarily experience low water pressure until water lines refill. A temporary outage normally entraps some air in the water distribution system, which can cause water to have a cloudy appearance. It also stirs up sediment in water mains that may briefly cause discolored water. The water is safe to drink. To clear your pipes of entrapped air and discoloration, run cold water faucets that do not have a screen, such as those in tubs or an outside spigot. Flush your lines until the water runs clear.

Due to inclement weather, the repair has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 8 a.m. Affected properties will be without water service during the repair and have been notified.

On Friday Dec. 1, Eagle River Water & Sanitation District was notified of a water main leak on Elkhorn Rd. in Bachelor Gulch. Due to the inclement weather, the Field operations team will monitor it throughout the weekend, with plans for excavation and repair to begin at 8 a.m. Dec 4.
There will be an emergency water outage for affected residences on Monday, Dec. 4th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the repair. Residences have already been posted.
Affected residents may want to fill containers, buckets, and jugs so that they have water throughout the day. Water from a bucket or jug can be used for hand washing, toilet flushing or for drinking or cooking needs. To flush a toilet during a water outage, pour a bucket of water into the toilet bowl all at once (learn how by watching this short video) or fill the tank for regular flushing.
