Water service has been restored to all residences. Backfill and cleanup activities continue onsite.
7:15 p.m. Aug. 9, 2024
The pipe and leak area have been exposed and repairs are underway.
When water service is restored, properties may temporarily experience low water pressure until water lines refill. A temporary outage normally entraps some air in the water distribution system, which can cause water to have a cloudy appearance. It also stirs up sediment in water mains that may briefly cause discolored water. The water is safe to drink.
To clear your pipes of entrapped air and discoloration, run cold water faucets that do not have a screen, such as those in tubs or an outside spigot. Flush your lines until the water runs clear.

Excavation is ongoing to determine the exact location of the leak.
11 a.m. Aug. 9, 2024

All underground utilities have been located, which allowed for excavation to begin. Once the pipe is exposed and the exact leak location determined, an appropriate repair plan will be implemented.
8:45 a.m. Aug. 9, 2024
Staff and equipment are onsite awaiting completion of all utility locates and investigating the source of the leak. Once it is safe to dig, excavation will begin.

Eagle River Water & Sanitation District responded to a report of a potential water main break at about 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at Terrace Ridge townhomes in Edwards.
The leak was running into a gutter on Edwards Village Blvd. District staff monitored the leak to allow residents to maintain water service and told residents to be prepared for an emergency water service outage if the leak worsened.
At about 7 p.m., Terrace Ridge residents were being notified directly in-person or by door hanger that the water main would need to be shut down, and they should prepare for a temporary water service outage by filling a bathtub or large buckets with water for hand washing and toilet flushing, and filling containers or jugs for drinking or cooking needs. To flush a toilet during a water outage, pour a bucket of water into the toilet bowl all at once (learn how by watching this short video) or fill the tank for regular flushing.
The water main in the affected area was shutdown at about 9 p.m. to stop the leak.
All properties at 288 Edwards Village Blvd. (Terrace Ridge) in Edwards will be without water service on Friday, Aug. 9.
Staff will return at 8 a.m., Aug. 9 to further assess the situation and coordinate repairs. Once all underground utilities have been located and it is safe to dig, excavation of the suspected leak area will begin.
