Construction Projects
The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (District) and Upper Eagle Regional Water Authority (Authority) are located in a high altitude, beautiful mountain setting. However, our varied, mountainous terrain presents unique challenges for providing water and wastewater services. The water distribution system consists of 240 miles of pipeline and other equipment to deliver drinking water to customers in the District and Authority service areas. Another 210 miles of pipeline is used to collect wastewater.
To maintain the highest quality of service for customers, maintenance and improvement projects are periodically required. Customers may notice the District’s red trucks and other equipment parked near homes or businesses, replacing or repairing pipelines or performing needed upgrades for the various District and Authority facilities. All of these efforts are part of our ongoing commitment “to provide efficient, effective, and reliable water and wastewater utility services in a manner that respects the natural environment.”
During construction, interruptions in service may occur. These interruptions may be scheduled or unscheduled. If a scheduled interruption will affect any service, affected customers will be notified at least forty-eight hours in advance. Possible means of notification include telephone calls, door-to-door notification, door hangers, or fliers. Unscheduled service interruptions may be communicated to customers via phone calls or door-to-door notification. If an unscheduled interruption does occur, District employees and contractors are working diligently to restore service as quickly as possible.
