IT Systems Support Tech

Department:

Job Summary : Under limited supervision, assists in the maintenance and administration of ERW&SD's technology systems. The Systems Support/Netowrk Analyst supports and maintains ERW&SD's Windows 2003 network, including: end user support, configuration, performance, disaster recovery and security. Must be comfortable spotting recurring issues and devising a solution to prevent them within the guidelines set by the IS division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Assists the IS Division Manager with the network, supports and administers IT policies as assigned.
• Support, install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain:
o Microsoft Windows 2003 server and Windows XP in a client/server environment
o Network and application monitoring systems
o Backup and recovery of server environments
o Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Microsoft SQL 2005
• Primary point of contact for network support issues.
• Shares responsibility for all technical support and guidance for the District (over 80 users at 6 locations);
• Troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues and develop an understanding of the root of the problem to devise a permanent solution;
• Collects data and performs analysis as needed;
• Keeps current with new technologies;
• Maintains a positive attitude with team/unit;
• Maintains good public relations;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related technical field from four-year college or university; and two-three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and databases desirable. Technical certifications a plus.
Other Skill & Abilities: Excellent problem solving skills a must. Must be able to perform under pressure. Ability to translate complex concepts to a diverse audience. Must be comfortable interfacing with people on a regular basis. Ability to prioritize, develop directives and deadlines and manage the implementation and change of all projects. Ability to work with minimal supervision. The ability to work as a member of a team is a must.

Lab Analyst II

Salary:

$22.23/hr + DOQ and experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

 The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District Laboratory is a water and wastewater compliance laboratory serving the needs of 4 wastewater plants and 4 public water systems. The Lab Analyst II is responsible for working with the other laboratory staff members to perform routine as well as sophisticated analyses, develop new testing procedures, and perform other tasks required for general laboratory operation.

Must have a 4 year science degree and be familiar with Gas Chromatography.
Laboratory Experience is required.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Performs a variety of routine chemical and microbiological analyses on water and wastewater samples meeting the requirements of NPDES permits and drinking water certifications. Analyses are performed in accordance with EPA regulations.
• Performs and troubleshoots Gas Chromatography and Flow Injection Analysis (Lachat) methods.
• Performs method development for new testing procedures – investigates new analyses, develops QA/QC requirements, solves problems encountered during development, trains other analysts, and writes associated SOPs.
• Participates in day to day laboratory duties such as data entry and review, reagent preparation, washing of labware, and ordering of supplies.
• Monitors instrument performance issues and preventative maintenance, performs service, or initiates service calls as needed.
• Drafts and revises documents such as official communications, SOPs, and the Quality Assurance Manual.
• Ensures ongoing compliance with approved methods and QA/QC procedures to deliver accurate, precise, and legally defensible data.
• Assists with special projects as needed.


Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a science-related field and laboratory experience is required.

Construction Manager

$25.00 - $32.00/hr. DOQ and Experience

  Experience: Experience at Water and Wastewater treatment plants during construction, integration, startup of mechanial, electrical, and control systems or Plant/Facilities expansion, build-out, upgrades, and startup experience highly desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Position Description: This position is responsible for the execution of District capital improvement program (CIP) projects. The Construction Manager may be responsible for prioritizing and managing multiple projects. The Construction Manager will be involved in all stages of CIP implementation including:
* Generation of projects
* Scoping
* Planning
* Design
* Permitting
* Bidding
* Construction
* Contract administration
* Close Out

Once the design of a project is complete, the Construction Manager will become the project team leader, taking oversight of bidding, contracting administration, coordination of project timelines, schedules, and budgets with the contractor, consultants and engineers, reviewing and recommending payment of contractor pay applications, coordination with plant supervisors, property owners and regulatory agencies, quality control and field verification inspections and project close out duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
* Attends project identification, budget, scoping and planning meetings for assigned CIP projects and provides construction management input to project team
* Provides detailed plan review during design phase and constructability recommendations to the design engineers
* Creates a project implementation schedule that includes planning, permitting, bidding and construction phases, and keeps it up-to-date and available to all team members throughout the project
* Coordinates permitting information collection, submittals and communication of approvals
* Prepares project reports for District management and Board of Directors
* Once the project design phase is complete, manages all aspects of the implementation of the project, including: bidding, award, contract administration, construction scheduling, requests for information (RFI), field changes, communication with and coordination between engineers and contractors, pay application negotiations and recommendations, field observation and documentation, negotiation of change orders, coordination with District operations, coordination with interested property owners, regulatory agencies, other utilities, secures accurate project as-builts and ensures they are added to the District electronic document management system (EDMS)
* Follows through with permit requirements until complete
* Monitors the project budget and requests amendments as necessary
* Attends Construction Review meetings as needed to assist with the review of private projects within District boundaries for conformance to District standards; and assist with review and updating of District specifications
* Works cooperatively with contractors to foresee potential liabilities, change orders and delays and resolve to the District's benefit
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Eagle River Water & Sanitation District located in beautiful Vail, CO is seeking a qualified Water Operator to monitor system operations and perform routine maintenance of Water treatment facilities and related equipment. Engages in the delivery of water in district, and in repair and maintenance of water treatment facilities including plants, wells, pump stations, storage tanks and related equipment. Also includes interpreting and acting upon laboratory, mechanical and operational data by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Routine documentation and monitoring of facilities. Monitor distribution system from SCADA system.

2.Responsible for water quality and flow through plant and adjust flow rates to keep up with demand.

3.Monitor turbidity, chlorine residual, and fluoride levels to meet state and federal standards and adjust plant operations accordingly.

4.Monitors equipment and treatment processes.

5.Regulates, adjusts and calculates chemical feed rates.

6.Performs general maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

7.Calculates tank volumes and pumping rates to assure proper fill rates.

8.Performs lab work and calibrates lab equipment.

9.Completes basic water plant operations.

10.Assists in coordinating activities of water operations staff.

11.Assists in monthly reports and other required paperwork.

12.Compiles and organizes historical data for facility logs.

13.Prepares work orders for work as needed.

14.Coordinates work with other departments.

15.Notifies responsible staff and management of changes in operations.

16.Required to follow all District safety and security policies and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by the job duties

17.Housekeeping.

 

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related water treatment experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
